Afternoon: Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Cultural Experiences

In the afternoon, head to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a landmark of Xi'an. This ancient pagoda, built during the Tang Dynasty, is a symbol of the city's rich history and cultural significance. The pagoda is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers a serene environment for visitors to explore. You can climb the pagoda for panoramic views of the city, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Day 2Mount Hua

Leave Xi'an early in the morning, around 7:00 AM, to make the most of your day at Mount Hua

Upon arrival, head to the West Peak Cable Car Station. Take the cable car up to the West Peak, also known as Lotus Flower Peak, which is the second-highest peak at 2,082 meters (6,831 feet). The cable car ride offers breathtaking views of the mountain's steep cliffs and dramatic landscapes.

From the West Peak, begin your hike towards the South Peak, the highest point on Mount Hua at 2,154 meters (7,070 feet). This route is challenging but rewarding, with steep stairways, narrow ridges, and awe-inspiring drops on either side. Along the way, you'll encounter famous spots like the Black Dragon Ridge and Golden Lock Pass, where visitors place locks for good luck. The highlight of this route is the Huashan Plank Walk, a narrow wooden plank path perched on the cliffside. Safety harnesses are provided, making it a thrilling yet safe experience.

After lunch, continue your exploration of Mount Hua. If time permits, visit the East Peak, known as the "Facing Sun Peak," which is the best place to catch the sunrise. The East Peak route is moderate in difficulty and offers incredible views of the surrounding peaks as the sun rises over the horizon. Alternatively, you can explore the Central Peak, also known as Jade Maiden Peak, which offers a quieter, more peaceful hiking experience.

Plan to descend the mountain by late afternoon to ensure you return to Xi'an before dark. Aim to be back in Xi'an by around 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, allowing you to rest and reflect on your adventurous day at Mount Hua.

Day 7Visit the Xi'an City Wall and Yongxingfang

Afternoon: Visit the Xi'an City Wall

In the afternoon, head to the Xi'an City Wall, one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. This ancient structure, built in 1370 during the Ming Dynasty, stands 12 meters high and stretches 13.7 kilometers around the old city center. The wall features a series of military fortifications, including gates, watchtowers, ramparts, and a deep moat.

If you're interested, you can rent a bicycle and cycle around the wall, enjoying panoramic views of both the ancient city and modern Xi'an. The South Gate (Yongning Gate) is the most popular entrance and offers the most spectacular views. Cycling around the wall takes approximately 1.5 hours, and it's a great way to experience the city's rich history and architecture.


Evening: Visit Yongxingfang

As evening approaches, make your way to Yongxingfang, a popular cultural and commercial area in Xi'an. This bustling district is known for its traditional architecture, local shops, and a wide variety of street food. Here, you can explore the narrow alleyways, visit local shops, and enjoy traditional Chinese cuisine.
