Guanzhong Folk Art Museum: This museum is a treasure trove of Chinese folk culture. The highlight is the 8,600 hitching posts with vivid stone carvings, showcasing the craftsmanship of ancient times.
Cuihua Mountain: Located in the Qinling Mountain Region, Cuihua Mountain offers breathtaking natural beauty and unique geological formations. Morning: Visit Guanzhong Folk Art Museum
Start your day with a visit to the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum, located in Wutai Ancient Town, Chang'an District, Xi'an. This museum is the first non-government-owned museum specializing in the preservation of folk art in China. It covers an area of around 11 hectares and houses over 40 ancient residences from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The museum's collection includes more than 33,600 sets of folk art legacies, dating back to the Zhou, Qin, Han, and Tang dynasties. Highlights include 8,600-plus stone sculptures of hitching posts and 40 relocated and restored yards. Visitors can also enjoy a local opera called Laoqiang, which has been sung for over 1,000 years.
Afternoon: Visit Cuihua Mountain
In the afternoon, head to Cuihua Mountain, located about 20 kilometers south of downtown Xi'an. This national geopark is known for its unique landslide formations and dammed lakes created by earthquakes. The mountain, with an elevation of 2,604 meters, offers stunning natural scenery and is divided into three districts: Tianchi Mountain, Ganjiao Pool, and Fangyuan. Highlights include the Yuan Peak, which is split in half and looks like a jade board standing upright. and the Cliff Stone Forest, which features over 100 site masterpieces left by poets and painters. The park is suitable for hiking, with trails offering beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
